Software, websites, artificial intelligence and infrastructure: answers to help shape your project.

A starting point for your project

What solution does your business need? Here you can find answers about what we can build, how we can integrate the tools you already use and what to clarify before getting started.

Bit Company and services for businesses

What does Bit Company do?

Bit Company develops custom software, business systems, web applications, websites and e-commerce solutions for businesses and professionals. We also work with databases, automation, AI integrations and the management of servers, hosting, domains and email. Each project starts with the needs of the business and can include both development and infrastructure management.

Does Bit Company only work in Milan and Lombardy?

Bit Company works throughout Italy: we mention Milan and Lombardy simply because that is where we are based. We work in Rome, Palermo and Cagliari too, where we already have customers. We use video calls to get to know you and discuss a project when a phone call or email is not enough. When absolutely necessary, we can visit customers wherever they are to talk in person.

Can I have one point of contact for software, my website and servers?

Yes. Bit Company can coordinate software development, websites, hosting, databases, email, DNS, backups and maintenance. Having one point of contact who understands the different components helps manage integrations and identify the causes of problems. The services included are defined for each project.

Custom software, business systems and integrations

How can I replace the Excel spreadsheets I use to manage my work?

A custom business application can bring together data, checks, deadlines and tasks that are currently spread across several Excel spreadsheets. Bit Company analyses how the files are completed and used, which information needs to be shared and which tasks are repeated. This analysis defines the features to build and the data to transfer, without assuming that every spreadsheet needs replacing.

Can a new application connect to the business software or CRM I already use?

Yes, when the existing tools provide suitable integration methods, such as APIs, authorised database access or usable exports. Bit Company assesses which data to exchange, how often and with which checks. Feasibility also depends on the limitations of the software already in use and the permissions available.

Can you update existing software instead of rebuilding it from scratch?

Bit Company can analyse, maintain and extend existing software. Before choosing between an update and a rewrite, we need to examine the code, databases, dependencies and required features. This assessment helps determine which parts to keep, which to integrate and which need revising.

Do you build business software for rental and technical support companies?

Bit Company can design custom rental management software and integrate support with customers, products and contracts. The ticket and support demo illustrates this area. The features of the complete system, CRM integrations and workflows are defined around the needs of the business: the demo does not automatically represent every feature of a custom project. Integrated into one solution, our systems form a complete CRM that can be extended with any feature the customer needs or imagines. We set no limits on what we are willing to explore in programming, including projects involving artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence at work

Which business tasks can benefit from artificial intelligence?

Artificial intelligence can help retrieve information, classify documents, prepare summaries and assist staff with repetitive tasks. Bit Company assesses these features within the business process, identifying a specific need and the results to check. Important decisions still require verification of the answers and the information used.

Can an AI assistant answer questions using my business data?

A custom assistant can be designed to consult authorised sources such as business software, a CRM, a database or company documents. The project must define which data is accessible, user permissions, how information is handled and which services are involved. Data availability and quality determine which questions can be addressed usefully.

Does the Data Assistant demo actually analyse the files I select?

No. The public Bit Company Data Assistant page demonstrates the interface and does not upload or analyse real files. It illustrates possible workflows for searching, summarising and exporting information. To try a working demo or explore integration with your own data, contact Bit Company. Where appropriate, we can provide a demo tailored to your needs with enough functionality to show the potential of the system.

Websites and e-commerce

Do I need a brochure website, a catalogue or an online store?

A brochure website introduces your business and makes it easier to get in touch. A catalogue lets visitors browse products and specifications, even without buying online. An online store adds the sales process, including a shopping cart, payments and order management. The choice depends on what customers need to do and how the business organises sales and support.

Can a website or online store connect to business processes?

Yes. A web project can include enquiry forms, private areas and integrations with company records or software. Before development, we define which data to exchange and which tasks to automate. The interfaces provided by existing systems need to be checked: integration is not automatic for every platform.

Who looks after the website after launch?

Bit Company can handle website maintenance, updates and ongoing development, as well as the domain, hosting, email and backups. New pages, catalogues, private areas and integrations can be considered over time. The activities included and support arrangements are agreed according to the project and selected services. We also manage existing projects and build new websites and online stores with Magento, WordPress and WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Shopify.

Servers, backups and document cloud

What can business infrastructure management include?

Management can include servers and hosting, databases, domains and DNS, email accounts, SSL certificates, access controls, monitoring, updates and backups. Bit Company assesses the environment and dependencies between services to define the work required. The scope of the service depends on the infrastructure actually in use.

Why is it important to test recovery as well as make backups?

A backup creates a copy of data; recovery restores that data to a usable environment. You therefore need to define what to save, how often and how long to keep copies, as well as the checks and recovery tests to perform. Having a backup file alone does not prove that all data and services can be restored correctly.

Does Bit Company manage project infrastructure directly?

Bit Company favours servers we own or infrastructure hosted with established providers that have a strong, demonstrable track record, while retaining direct management and monitoring. This approach lets us coordinate the application environment with development and support. The specific solution and any external services are assessed against the requirements of the project.

Can I have a cloud archive for documents and photographs in my practice?

Bit Company offers a customisable document cloud for professionals and practices, including lawyers and photographers. The project can organise files and photographs into folders for clients, cases and jobs, with search, viewing and sharing features. Storage, users, permissions and integrations are agreed individually. The public demo uses sample content and is not a place to store real professional documents.

Quotes, timescales and support

What information do you need to prepare a quote?

It helps to describe the problem to solve, who will use the system, the tools already in place and the desired result. If available, you can specify priority features, data volumes and deadlines. You do not need a complete technical specification to begin: an initial discussion helps clarify needs and possible solutions.

How much does custom software or a bespoke website cost?

The cost depends on the features, integrations, data to manage and development and support work required. Bit Company assesses the project and, if requested, prepares a detailed quote. Enquiries through the contact form and all feasibility quotations are free and non-binding. If a feasibility study requires working demos of the requested solutions, the cost is specified in advance and work starts only after explicit approval from the customer. There are no hidden costs: amounts, payment arrangements, contract duration and service terms are discussed and agreed from the outset. Agreed costs remain unchanged throughout the signed contract.

How long does a project take, and can we start with a few features?

Timescales are assessed after defining the objectives, priorities, materials and integrations. For custom software, we can identify the essential features to start with and plan subsequent developments. The order of work must take technical dependencies and verification into account.

How do I contact support while we are working together?

Bit Company provides customers under contract with direct telephone contact with a technician during the collaboration. The services covered and support arrangements must be agreed as part of the support relationship. For a new project, you can use the Contact form to describe your needs without making a contractual commitment.

Questions from users

Can you manage my online store on a limited budget?

Yes. Our website and e-commerce work starts at €245 for creating the page. Any management costs are agreed separately, based on the tasks required and the desired response times. If you manage your own product catalogue and content, our management covers the operation of the website and its availability online, and is included in the proposed annual fee. If you would also like us to update the products in your store, we can do that too: the cost varies with the amount of work and is always agreed in advance, in proportion to the effort involved. We prefer to automate tasks and make systems easy to use, giving you as much independence as possible. The aim is to let you manage everyday work without wondering “What do I do now?”, while keeping the need for our intervention to a minimum.

If I am in Venice, how can I explain and show you what I want to create?

If your project involves purely visual design or a technical explanation of your idea, a phone or video call is enough to discuss what you want. If you have more detailed requirements and need to show us the specifics of your work up close, we can visit you. One example is an AI-generated cinematic presentation in which you want to describe your work in detail: seeing your business on site helps us understand it better and present it at its best, highlighting what you want others to know.
